Enhanced security for guests
The Music Week team take the security of our guests very seriously and have listened to the feedback we received last year regarding guest safety at the end of the evening. To address concerns guests may have about walking through Battersea Park at night we have enhanced our security team for this year’s event, with security guards now being stationed along Carriage Drive North up to the Chelsea Bridge gate exit of the park once the Awards have ended. The guards will be clearly identifiable in high visibility jackets and will be available to guide guests safely out of the park if they require assistance.
To ensure further the safety of guests when leaving the venue we would recommend the following:
PRE-BOOK A BLACK TAXI
Black taxis are the only vehicles permitted into the venue forecourt and so for a door-to-door service we would strongly recommend pre-booking a black taxi via an app such as Gett or website such as HailMe-247.co.uk . Doing this will ensure guests are dropped off/collected from the venue entrance and will not have to enter the main park.
Please note// Ubers and other taxi firms are only allowed to park in the public car park, which is a 2 minute walk from the venue. Further details below.
PRE-BOOK AN UBER
If guests choose to book a taxi via Uber or a similar app we would strongly recommend pre-booking the taxi to reduce the chances of last-minute driver cancellations or delays. Any taxi that is not a black cab cannot enter the venue’s forecourt but can park in the Carriage Drive North Car Park, which is a 2 minute walk from the venue. There will be security guards and the park police patrolling the car park but the area is likely to be very busy at the end of the event and it may take guests a while to find their designated car and driver.
LEAVE THE VENUE IN PAIRS OR GROUPS
If guests would prefer to leave the venue on foot they will need to walk out of the venue grounds and through Battersea Park to the Chelsea Bridge Gate exit (approx. 7 minute walk). Security guards will be stationed along this route but we would strongly recommend guests walk in pairs or groups to further ensure their safety. There is a bus stop (CJ) at the gate with frequent buses to Sloane Square and Victoria stations and on the opposite side of the road is a bus stop (CC) with buses travelling towards Battersea Park station and Clapham Junction.
If guests have any questions regarding the above safety measures please do not hesitate to contact kate.smith@futurenet.com in advance of the event or speak to one of the venue staff or Music Week team on site at the awards.
Please note that Music Week is not affiliated in any way with any taxi company or taxi booking app.
